Are We Living or Just Existing?

What is living according to us? It is subjective to each and every individual. Meeting everyday needs is not living, which we all agree on, right? You meet your daily needs to do what you love to do, which most of us are missing in our lives.

Some people may know what they love and pursue it. Some people know what they love, but don’t prioritize doing it. Most people haven’t even identified what they love to do. People often misunderstand this as materialistic things, specific people, or experiences they wish to have. They call it a bucket list. To travel the world, to buy expensive things, to be in an ideal shape, etc. But that’s not what I meant. I meant you to search internally.

There is a soul within you that forgot, a long time ago, what it loved to do.

Find what you solely enjoy when you are not tied to worldly things or roles like son, daughter, husband, wife, father, or mother. What do you like to do when it is only you?

People who spend some time alone are bombarded with millions of thoughts running in parallel. It is okay that all those thoughts come to you at once when you are alone. Because, for the first time, all the thoughts and pending things are coming in front of you with the excitement as if they are saying, “You are finally here to talk to us.”

Don’t panic because you cannot focus or because you have so much to process. Just go through every thought, and you will notice the noise reduces gradually. Once all those things are acknowledged by your heart, then you can have a peaceful conversation with it.

Living starts right there, the conversation with your heart.
